And then there were the Foundation Dogs...

Those wonderful pets that came before the children...

K's Barnabus Dynamite 1979 - 1988

Mr. K thought he had the say. There would be no "doggies" living in the house. Mrs. K had other ideas, and soon, shortly after the marriage began, Barney came to live. Barney, til the day he died was Mrs. K's dog. He was a dog with great dignity, and great class. Barney loved each of the 3 K kids, but always and ever, he was the Momma's dog. He died peacefully in Mrs. K's lap.

K's Muffery Dynamite1981-1996??

Muff was Barney's sister two years younger. She was always a nervous little thing and more Barney's dog than anyone else's. In 1989, Muff went to live with a friend of Auntie Dianne's because she kept biting Miss Blondewonder. Mrs. K always felt guilty about giving Muff away, but the truth is, she was adored where she went, spoiled absolutely rotten, and lived to a very old age.

K's Sunnee   1981 - 1996

Sunnee was our first golden retriever. Sunnee was a tall and lean girl who never slowed down to get a pet until she was 5. She lived a long and happy life. She loved the kids although she treated them more like lambs to herd than masters to listen to. She had this most unusual habit of spinning in circles, all the while growling and holding the ankle of her foot in her mouth.  Mr. K called it break dancing. We are sure that she's trying to teach our darling taz the steps up there in Heaven

K's Micky 1978-1993?

Micky was Mr. K's dog before he discovered he was going to get married. Grandpa K kept Micky but when Grandpa K passed away in 1988, Micky came to live with us. She was something else. Micky kind of had a mind of her own, and did whatever the heck she felt like. She was a rangy dog all muscle and energy, and really never had much time for people, other than to notice that they fed and watered her, and took her hunting when she felt like going. Micky was a drahthaar, a dog with a noble background. Mikki always had a noble, if indifferent aire about her... but there you go, we loved her anyway, and I always thought she was partial to the kids... as she'd put up with any amount of abuse and look at them with that "oh, was that supposed to hurt?' look...
